Our pendant alarm service is designed to provide reassurance, promote independence and ensure help is always close at hand – even for those living alone or managing health conditions. With just the press of a button, clients can instantly alert our 24/7 monitoring centre in an emergency, whether that’s a fall, a sudden illness, or simply feeling unsafe. Just as important as the technology itself is how we ensure the service is safe, appropriate and tailored to each individual – starting with a thorough remote assessment.

Assessment
Once we receive an enquiry – whether from the individual, a family member or a healthcare professional – we contact the client to carry out an assessment over the phone or via video call. This initial conversation is led by a trained member of our team who will guide the individual through a series of questions, gathering information about their health, daily routines, mobility, and existing support network. This helps us understand whether the pendant alarm on its own will be sufficient or whether additional devices such as fall detectors or door sensors may be more appropriate. Futhermore, if you are chronically sick or disabled, you can qualify for VAT Exemption on all our packages.
We also assess the person’s home environment remotely, including whether they have a reliable phone line or mobile signal, whether they live alone, and any recent incidents – such as falls or hospital admissions – that might affect the level of risk. Where necessary, we may speak with family members or carers to help build a fuller picture. At all times, safety is our priority. If we believe the alarm may not be suitable without further support – for example, for someone living with advanced dementia or at high risk of falls – we will make recommendations and signpost other services or involve healthcare professionals.
Delivery & Setup
Once the assessment is complete and the service is confirmed as appropriate, we arrange for the alarm unit and pendant to be delivered directly to the client’s home. Along with the equipment, we include clear, easy-to-follow instructions to guide them through the setup process. Our devices are designed to be as straightforward as possible – typically involving plugging the base unit into a power socket and either a phone line or allowing it to connect to the mobile network if it’s a SIM-based model. The pendant, worn on the wrist or around the neck, is lightweight, waterproof and comfortable enough to be worn at all times, including in the bath or shower.
To support the client with setup, we offer optional telephone support at the time of installation. One of our team members can stay on the line to guide them through each step, test the equipment, and answer any questions they may have. We also encourage a test call on the day of installation to ensure everything is working as it should and that the monitoring centre can clearly communicate with the client through the base unit.
When the alarm is activated – whether during a genuine emergency or a routine test – it immediately connects the client to a trained operator at our monitoring centre. The operator will speak to the client through the alarm unit and decide on the appropriate course of action – this may involve contacting a named friend, neighbour, or family member, or calling the emergency services if necessary. All calls are handled with care, professionalism, and urgency, ensuring help is sent as quickly as possible.
Ongoing Support
We recommend clients press the button for a test call once a month to keep the system in good working order. We also carry out periodic check-ins – usually by phone – particularly if there has been a change in the client’s health or personal circumstances. This ensures the equipment continues to meet their needs and that all emergency contacts are still correct.
Families often tell us how much peace of mind the service gives them – knowing their loved one is never really alone, even when they can’t be there themselves. For our clients, the pendant alarm provides a quiet confidence that they can remain safely at home, knowing that support is always close at hand.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this kind of reassurance, we would be happy to carry out a free remote assessment and explain how our service works. Please contact us to get started – we’re here to help.
